Bakersfield Association of Professional Landmen |
BAPL is a non-profit professional association organized in 1957, designed to secure deserved recognition and improved standing for Land professionals engaged in all matters affecting the mineral and energy industries by coordinating the work and efforts of Land professionals serving in the industry, educating its members, and promoting the growth and development of the Association.
The BAPL is a local chapter of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and about 2/3 of our current members also belong to the AAPL.
BAPL actively seeks to provide opportunities for personal and professional development in its membership. Luncheon meetings are held monthly, September through June. The agenda includes lunch and guest speakers who present topics on a variety of energy industry and land work topics. To promote the continuation of educational opportunities for the professional development of all members, these luncheons are typically eligible for educational credits towards CPL, RPL and RL certification with AAPL.
In addition to the monthly luncheons, the BAPL holds an annual golf tournament in the spring to benefit the Bakersfield Homeless Center. Past tournaments have raised in excess of $40,000 for this worthy cause. In the fall, BAPL joins with the Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen (LAAPL) to present the West Coast Land Institute. This 2.5 day seminar focuses on networking and educational topics regarding hot button issues affecting our industry and attracts attendees and speakers from across California and the country.
BAPL strives to provide a professional, social and educational association to benefit its membership. We invite non-members and members of other organizations to join us at any of these events to learn more about our organization.
